Our design team over at Sin City Stamps is having a Blog Hop! Woo Hoo!

Each designer will make a set of  Artist Trading Cards (ATC)

ATCs are miniature works of art that measure 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.  To be honest they are meant to be traded, but if sold, they should referred to as Art Card Edition Originals (ACEOs).  We are very excited to exchange out ATC creations with you and one lucky winner will get an opportunity to win one of the ATC background stamps!! :: squeals eeeee::

How to win the ATC Artist Info Stamps from Sin City Stamps:

  1. Stop by each blog and leave a comment.
  2. Stop back by the Main Sin City Blog Post and leave a comment saying which ATC Artist Info stamp you would like to win.
  3. Stop by the Sin City Stamps Facebook Page and like it!
  4. Subscribe to the Sin City Stamps YouTube Channel, so you will not miss any of our how  to videos.

  Here are my ATC Creations..

I had such a ball creating these ATCs.  I try to put a little bit of me in each one I do. I love bright colors, texture and quotes.  I hope you enjoy them.  I also will be giving my four ATCs away to those who leave a comment below. My winners will be posted on 18th of September, 2015.

Okie doke, let us begin!

The supplies I used to create my ATCs are:

Sin City Stamps- Just Us Girls by Terri Sproul
Sin City Stamps- Peeking Owl by Michelle Cummings
Sin City Stamps- Flourish by Michelle Cummings
Artistcellar- Chakra Series Pocket Stencils
Dylusions Paints
Deco Art- White Gesso
Faber Castel- Glass Bead Glitter
Cardboard (cut to ATC size)
Book paper
Strathesmore Mixed Media Paper 400 series
Derwent Inktense Pencils
Pentel Waterbrush
Deco Art- Acrylic paint
Archival Ink Pad
Helmar- 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Helmar- Craft and Hobby PVA Glue
Brushes
Blingy goodness
Quotes on paper
Scissors
pen

I took my card that was cut to size and covered it with book paper, then gesso.

I swished the 3 colors of paint around with a dry brush on each card.  I originally show only three, I later decided to do a fourth card.  ATCs are so addictive!!

I then took a couple of stencils and pounces some acrylic lightly on each them.

Don't forget to sometimes stencils off the side of the card.

Then I mixed some dylusions paint with glass bead glitter gel. It does not sparkle nearly as much as when you add gelatos (which are uber transparent).  I like it though!  Don't forget to allow drying time!

I took my inktense pencils and colored some images to layer on top!  I always scribble color on the side and apply with a waterbrush, thats the best way to avoid lines in my coloring.

Adhered the images with my  450 adhesive and added blingy goodness!

Flipped over to the backs of the cards and painted them all white so the artist stamp and its info would be legible.  Let Dry!

Stamped with archival ink and filled out the information.

Added quotes I typed out and cut to place on ATCs. Adhered them with a little PVA Craft glue. Then I framed the wording with a black pen.  Here are a few close ups

Stand up for what's right even if you stand alone

She's bright like glitter and bubbly like champagne.

Don't let anyone EVER dull your Sparkle

Seek respect not attention, it lasts longer.

Day 1 of #90daysofblogging

Hey folks...  To day is MAY 1st!

I am trying hard to step up my blog game!  Yep ::insert vintage picture of woman with mighty fist here::  Trying to create more and post about it!  It's easy to create!  It's hard for me to document it and tell folks about it, when it isn't required. I have never considered myself a reader, let a lone a writer.

I welcome this challenge and I excited for my friends who have decided to take this journey with me, for whatever their reasons are :).  Will try to link their blogs below, in case anyone is reading this and decides to also check them out. :)

Now on to today's post.  I will try to talk about things I have done, products I have used and works in progress.  So keep a head's up!  You never know with me.

Tonight is the night before my Sin City Stamps posts is due. I am playing around with my stencils I got in my design team package and I like them a lot.  A reason why is they are thinly made, but not so fragile, they aren't flexible.  They are not super expensive and I appreciate how easily the slide between the pages of journals or on my gelli plate and made very detailed markings with every use.

I used my one of my stencils with some Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel (that I won from attending a ustream class)!!  I LOVE FABER CASTELL PRODUCTS!!! Now anyone who knows me, knows I love Bling and GLITTER, even more than I love shimmer. It's a HELL to clean up, but not in this product.  I took my DecoArt Media Acrylic Mister in Purple and colored the glitter beads.  Used it with my spatula through a stencil on my up and coming journal page.  The gel although white, dries clear or whatever color you changed it to. with large specks of glitter that don't come off!!  How freaking cool is that!?!  BTW, I love my DecoArt Media Misters in EVERY COLOR and while I am not a super clean crafter, I have not been prevented from using my misters due to clogged nozzles.  They clean with a few dips in water.  Easy Peasy!!

I had things to do (blog posts to write and I wanted to let my page naturally dry) so I slipped the stencil in a zip lock with DecoArt Media Brush and Stencil Cleaner which is my FAVE!!  That stuff is the BIZNESS!!  It allows me want to take care of my brushes and mister/spray nozzles and stencils better and almost effortlessly.  You can use it straight or a little diluted and you will know the difference every time.

Ok.. I have blogged wayyy longer then I intended.. and that's ok.. Just don't expect it every time! ::big chuckle:: Thank you for following me and have a wonderful weekend!!!

Oh BTW..
Other Friends on the challenge are

Sandee Setliff
Sandy Beach
Donna Lueders

If we have inspired you to take the challenge I would love to add you to our bunch. #90daysofblogging

Sin City Stamp Line Design Team Try-Out Post

Hi I am Tamiko and today I am doing a mixed media page to try out for the Sin City Stamp Line Design Team .  I have loved stamps and anything involved with them, from coloring to cardmaking, paper art, and mixed media projects and more.  Today I just felt like trying something different.  I wanted to show the use of stamps on my handmade papers.  Handmade papers I created with my Arnold Grummer Paper Mill Kit.

Here I thoroughly inked my rather large stamp with some black archival ink.

Looks good on my handmade paper. The image does not have to be perfect, but it does need to legible.

Stamped a few more images, Loved the idea of the images on the cover of some small art journal signatures I may include in some happy mail to friends or keep for myself.  Plus I like to try various types of platforms to stamp on.  I finally colored it with some water colors and a waterbrush by Koi.
Here are some pictures below of my finished piece.. I hope you enjoy!!

On my art journal page I chose to write
Embrace Beauty.  My word for 2015 is Embrace.  This journal page is about Embracing beauty within our art or mind/spirits.  Loving what you bring about you into any situation.

I hope I get the opportunity to design with Sin City Stamps, they are a company built with quality stamping and a talented group of people who I would like to experience working with.  In the mean time, check Sin City Stamps.  Look at all the lovely stamps they have!  I know I am generating a wishlist of my own!! :)  Happy New Year and thank you for stopping by!!
