Day 14- #90daysofblogging

Pocket Letters and Art :)

This month I have chosen to join the new rage over the pocket letters.  I needed to know I could create one!  At least one!  So I joined a swap with the lovely ladies of Ustream!  It made my head hurt!  I was so amazed to see how folks just belted out letters within 30 minutes and sometimes less!
Well when I decided to join the swap, I got Miss Anita.  I didn't know anything about her so I stalked her FB page and saw she liked Carolyn Dube and Joanne Sharpe.  So I kinda felt safe, for 3 minutes! ::laughs:: I never saw any of her art or knew what she liked.  So the headaches started.  Then I heard a little voice say.. just make something that represented you!  I thought HA!!  She might return my mail!  Anyway, and a gazillion Youtubes, Pinterest searches and Ustreams provided by Dede, Johnna and Zandra who are ALL AMAZING at this..  I wound up doing a mixed media PL.  My own art on one side and after a questionaire during a stream asking for the colors folks liked. I learned Miss Anita liked reds and pinks.. ::whew::  I made her pocket letter of which I didn't keep a picture of and I was releved to find out she loved it.. and so did the folks she showed it to.  As with all things.. I plan to do better.  Now if I could munster up the energy to do about 15-20 more!!  :)

I did receive a pocket letter, from Ms Kathy Arbour.  WOW.. I had been a fan of hers for over a year!  Because of this art journal page I saw her post in Limor Webers Group on FB.

Who knew that Cass was Kathy Arbour!!!  Donna and I watched her recording on Ustream one night and I said.. I know this lady!  I recognize her work!!  As we watched her create her partners pocket letter.. I knew it was suppose to be mine.  I watched her put the PL together and listened to her say she knew nothing about me, but she knew enough that she created a perfect one for me.. with my favorite art piece she made.. How freaking COOL was that??

Donna sent me some mail.. she like me.. procrastinates big time.. sometimes. (BUT in her defense.. she always means well) . ::chuckles:: and with her mail she sent me something she was suppose to send in December 2014.. ::laughs loudly::   She also sent a POCKET LETTTTTERRRRRR and a  Donna Patriotic Art Piece.  Donna does know me.. so of course she did the purple and she did all the awesome goodies I'll never use.. because I don't want to destroy my pocket letter!!  She also sent me the sweetest note ::snifflin all over again::  She is indeed one of my besties!! :)   Bet ya want pictures of it all??? :)

Day 13- #90daysofblogging

Ok.. I wanted to share one more water color thingy that I have been playing with.  My friend Anna is hosting the May Challenge over in our Mixed Media Group on FaceBook called Mixing it Up Every Day. The monthly challenge is to do Doodle Flowers and use water colors as seen here and inspired by  CeeCee Creations .  We are having a bit of fun doing this project.  It was great for Anna to sponsor it for the group.  Winner of the challenge will get Koi Water Colors in a tube  and a Strathesmore Mixed Media journal.  This is a video of the exercise that inspired our flower doodles.

Wish you could join us?  There is still time... :)
Here is some of the doodle flowers I did.. with my neocolors II in this picture.. I did it before in my Kois.. and frankly.. uhhhgggg  ::laughs VERY LOUDLY:::

I think i need to try it some more with my H2Os.. Yep I do!!  :)  and I am looking forward to the playtime!  :)  Have time to check out my girl friends also doing the #90daysofblogging Challenge with me?  You can find their links below:  In the mean time.. if your up to reading.. check out my girls right here.. :)

Day 12- #90daysofblogging

Today I was in a bit of pain so I was in bed much of the day.  I did a little bit of playing time with my Twinkling H2Os from  Colour  Arte, my Derwent watercolor pencils, I stamped my images with archival ink pad because it permanent. I used water color paper and just played.. Sometimes with water brush and sometimes with a regular artist bristle brush. Here are a few pictures.

These are images from stamps I got from SinCityStamps.com called Madame   As you can see I did a bit of scribbling swatches on my water color paper direct.. to avoid leaving pencil mark lines on my images,  I hate that.. (ilk) These derwent pencils seem pretty perm once dry.  I couldn't go back and move color from my swatches of color.. so i learned.. just pick up a little at a time.  Plus it was more then enough to accommodate the small spaces I was working on.

and these are from Terri Sprouls newest stamps..  also from Sin City Stamps found here.  Here I used more of my H2Os.  I like to add shimmer to their clothing and shoes whenever I could.. They all look like glamorous girls, don't they?  Love my little pots of shimmering goodness!

Both are fun to play and color with.. whether it be water color paints and or pencils!
I definitely won't need a coloring book for a while!
Might even use some of those on my post for Sin City this coming Friday.. :)

Anywho.. enough for this post.. I could go on for a while longer.. but ha.. I have over 70 more days of yacking to do!! :)

In the mean time.. if your up to reading.. check out my girls right here.. :)

Day 11- #90daysofblogging

This picture is a collage of some step by steps done by Dede Willingham....
That she also made available to us online..

My friend Dede Willingham is a FANTABULOUS artist does a MORE THAN amazing job teaching us how to draw realistic portraits. Mind you.. she is NO TEACHER (says she).  Last week she provided a light sketch of a young girl Amelia.  You were to go to her blog here.  Save the picture provided and print to a tan toned paper of some sort.  Why tanned toned?  Because it worked best for the technique she would be demonstrating with prisma pencils for shading.  Along with that print out, she did live streams on her Ustream channel here and later uploaded to her YouTube channel here.
Amelia can be found in 3 parts...

Amelia Part One
Amelia Part Two
Amelia Part Three

While I didn't do the project. I did learn from each of the parts and I will not be afraid to eventually try it knowing I have these videos to aid me.  I also can use bits and pieces of Dede's teachings to help in the types of portraits I do like to create.  Dede is a very modest woman and could easily charge money for the information she gives us.  She does it for free.. I personally appreciate her more than she could EVER POSSIBLY know for the information she has given .  How do you say thank you?  How do you say Thank YOU?

This week Dede is working on another technique, but I have promised #90daysofblogging and well.. you will get that info another day.. ::chuckles and smiles:::

Have a great one!

As always.. I appreciate your  YOU and YOUR TIME.. :)

Don't forget to stop by these ladies blogs, to see what they are doing.. :)

Day 10- #90daysofblogging

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's day to all the women in the world.
Whether your children are 2 or 4 legged.. (haha)

(image is from google images 1800flowers)

This post will not be long because I haven't slept and I wanna go back to bed.
I made a few cards for my ma and my auntie and they were just little note card size,
Nothing big, just to say thank you.  Thank you for always being there for me and Brook when we needed them most,

It really does take a village to raise a child.  When I came up I was raised by my mom, but she had help from my aunt and my grandma.  My mama got us up and ready for school every day, my grandma made us bag lunches and dinner and made sure we started our homework as soon as we got home, until she passed away in 1990.  My  auntie looked after us while we were in school and saw that we got home from school safely each day.  During the summer when my mom was working and my aunt was off, because she was a teacher,  she took us out.  We went to the museums, zoos, beaches, malls, lunches and movies.  We didn't miss anything growing up.  Oh wait.. I didn't learn to ride a bike, but I fell twice and I had a bigger desire to stay safe and scarless than ride a bike.  ::laughs loudly::  My family has always been a bunch of women I have always been able to count on as a child and as an adult with  child of my own.  I could never express how much they mean to me, what I can do.. is ALWAYS do right by them, keep them as safe as I can and as worry-free as possible.

Have a great Day and Thank you for stopping by..
Again as aslways I appreciate YOU and YOUR TIME..

Don't forget to stop by ..
