Second Entry April Creative Dare..

This is a second one I am adding to Aprils Creative Dare with Tracy Weinzapfel..  Will write more later...

My Five Words- April's Creative Dare...

Here is my entry for the Creative Dare: April Challenge with Tracy Weinzapfel.. We were told to do something and use five words we wanted to be remembered for.  I think it was more hard to come up with the words than the design. :-)  Never thought about what I wanted to be remembered for, once I left here yanno. I had different words and they seemed simple and frankly the last thing I want to be remembered for.. is being simple.. lol  This is what I came up with and I hope you like it!

Above on water color paper.. I used my SU and Staedtler's water color crayons, Michael's acrylics, crafter's workshop stencil, copic marker, CTMH ink pad and some flat back pearls.  Thank You for looking... :-)

Mixed Media Mondays Week of 4/22

Again I had  a ball with Tracy Weinzapfel and the fine folks from Mixed Media Mondays  on Facebook, click here to join!!  I played right along with Tracy and this is what I came up with..  

I need a new camera or better lighting.. (The lighting is cheaper.. lol)

Used my water color crayons-cool colors on mixed media paper...  let it dry.. came back with warm acrylics to layer.. Sprayed page with water and watched the paint sliiiiide... lol  Bubble wrapped  smashed some dots for Angie ( I don't know who she is yet.. lol, but I thought it was cute when Tracy said to do it on hers.. so I said why not.. lol)  ... used a few Tim Holtz stamps (wings on big heart and my corners) sprayed whole page with home made silver- lavender glimmer mist.. added crumpled book paper hearts .. that were brushed with black archival ink.. and drizzled some red stickles on them.. and the wings.. and finally wrote the words with a red copic marker.. and added accents with stickles again...  I hate I don't have a good camera..   the colors dont shimmer like my actual one at all.. anywho.. Mixed Media Mondays , Week of 4/15

Of course I had fun making this one.. It's my favorite drink!! COFFEE  Tracy told us to try a little grunge, not quite sure how well that went.. lol    Love my graphite pencils.. and my watercolor crayons from Stampin Up and some others I got from a Michaels.  Can't wait to try some gelatos.. or some Derwent products!  This is what I did..

Ustream was not cooperating with the chat which was lagging but I was effectively able to get all the suggestions coming my way.  This was about just adding as I went along and trusting.  After we went off air I added just a few more details...  

I am BACK and I have something with me!!

It's been a long while I know. I cannot say I haven't been doing anything fun, because I have.  Just not as much or as regular as I would liked to!  I am been a Pintrest Junky!! :-)  I have been gathering inspiration and knowledge there and pinning it to keep for everrrr (evil laugh inserted here) lol.  I also have decided to pick up some art journaling.  What's art journaling?  Art journaling is a way of combining words and pictures/artwork to express whoever is creator of the page is.  Doesn't have to be a passage or even a sentence.  Could be something as simple as a thought or a quote or a line from a song.. :-)  Which brings me to my reason for today's post.  I am a member of a secret society of journal artist, lol.. No, I am a member of a very fine, talented and friendly group of folks on facebook called Mixed Media Mondays.  The host is Tracy Weinzapfel of Tracy Weinzapfel Studios.. I originally met her with HELMAR!!  My most favorite wet adhesive in the world!  Anyway.. let me post my pic before i don't post anything!! lol  So this month:

March's Creative Dare:

Create a piece using BUTTONS including a song (lyrics and/or title) that means a lot to you!

I liked doing this.. I have to admit I was happy to do this one for the challenge and I was also happy to be able to use this same picture to use for the month of April, for Autism Awareness.  April 2, 2013 is Light It Up Blue!!  I also have to give credit to the designer of the digital images used in this piece to Mr Robert Jackson, check him out by clicking here!!
