Washi Washi
Oh my goshi
Washi Washi
Oh my goshi

maybe i..
should make a card..
or even a journal page.
oh my goshi..
look it all the washi..
wasting itself a way.

am I silly...  yep

I can never  ever get enough of it.
Truth be told, I barely even use it!  It's sooo cute, I should REALLY use it though right?
Pictured above is my small stash of washi.  I probably have another 20-25 floating all over the room, my purses/artbag, kitchen and car, but those are in use!

Day 61- #90daysofblogging

I was so relieved to have gotten some of my mail out.  It disappoints me greatly, when I cannot get to the  post office after spending entirely to long just thinking how to execute my project best.  I have been delayed sometimes a week or more waiting for transportation to the post office.  I need a tricycle!  Shoot while I am putting it in the universe.  A motorized trike wouldn't be a bad thing either. ::chuckles::  No seriously peddling would be nicer.

Day 60- #90daysofblogging

Can't believe I am Day 60 of blogging, just a month to go and I would have completed my challenge!!  I think I will still do it again!!  I need more consistancy and I think If I go with the #findyourvoice prompts it will help me as well..  I have to refresh myself with how often those posts are required, weekly or daily.. I forget.

This post will be short because I am posting a little behind!  Well again, not much further now!

Thanks for coming along on the ride :)

Day 59- #90daysofbloggin

Saturday was a great day for some happy mail  (any mail that's not a bill is happy mail for me) and while I would love to show it all to you in one post. why should I!!  (LAUGHS out loud)  I have at least 31 more days of posting before I plan to take a break.!!  The first thing I would like to show is the awesome new bead rollers that were hand made for me by Mitzi Curry..  She painted the huge beads with fingernail polish.  She said I should feel less stress in my hands using these.  Then she also made me this bead necklace.  She wanted to show me how I could string my beads and create a necklace, while not necessarily using up alllllll my beads from my stash.  Isn't it cool???

Then I also got my first mini haul from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I must say I was not only surprised with how fast I got them, but the quality is beyond awesome!  I love the Lillies, Tulips and open Roses I got . Very pleased!  Very!

Well I have to go, other things to do.  It's almost July you know!  Thanks for stopping by!

Day 58- #90daysofblogging

Sometimes I just want ONE pancake, no really, one pancake.  Today I was greedy and made three and now my tummy hurts.  Hurts like heck.  Guess I shoulda stuck with one pancake.  It wasn't like I had bacon or sausage, so I thought I could eat more, NOT.  This is not my normal art chat ::yeah I know:: it is a post and it's done early! Woot Woot.  Thinking I will need a glass of milk to make sure that these pancakes move, they feel like bricks right now.  Uhgg! I have mail to get out and a blog post due  Sunday for Wednesday, July 1st.  Ok.. wish me luck!!

Day 57- #90daysofblogging

I had fun creating this.  I took the original black and white image I had and fussy cut all the black out and leaving a thin border to outline my image.  I went to an old art magazine called Art in America and took some other artist finished paintings and cut them up in strips and collaged them to a piece of water color paper that was 140lb, using some Deco Art Matte Medium.  With an old plastic card I smoothed out my papers.  Then I laid my Mona over the collaged pieces and adhered her with matte medium also.  I cut off the overage, leaving a hint along the edges to frame my work.  Then I added some color to her face with Design Memory Craft Gelatos and Big Brush Pitt Pens.  I just love how the Pitt pens go over the matte medium wet.. They stay wet only for 5 seconds though, so move fast if you want to blend a little bit of that color with anything else.

I have a habit of holding on to baby wipes that are flooded with pretty colors that have NOT all blended all into each other.  I fold them and let them dry and use them in background.  I may use the one above to adhere my finished piece to a Cottonwood Artist board.  Then off in the mail she goes to my swap partner.  I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making her.

Day 56- #90daysofblogging

Today is Thursday.

Main thing to do is to alter this Mona Lisa picture.
Black and white, size DOES NOT matter.

Not quite how I will do it, this was due a few days ago.  I refuse to just make anything.  I thought making her into Frida Kahlo and throng some flowers in her hair and connecting her eye brows.
I thought about going straight AndyWarhol Campbell's vegetable soup can art. and Maybe 3 others.
I wish I could make this dimensional and do something awesome with it.  Who knows what I will come up with, but it will be done today!! for Fridays mail.

Day 55- #90daysofblogging

Today is my last post with the Arnold Grummer Design team.  Our tenure is normally six months,  I have learned quite a few things about creating my own papers and I know this is NOT the end for me!  As DT we were supplied with quality product to create our own handmade papers after recycling some papers available around the house.  I know for me personally, I will never look at a metallic or brightly colored paper the same way again! ((laughs)).  I can't tell you how many packages I have gotten in the mail that I was equally excited to see packing papers as much as the product inside.

For anyone who has yet to experience the man behind The PaperMill.  Check out the YouTube Channel here.  Don't forget to subscribe and like the videos.  If you would like to take a look at my project from today, click HERE! :)  Also take a look at his book here..  great read and awesome projects to inspire your handmade paper creations!!

Day 54- #90daysofblogging

Today is my brother's birthday.  No arting today!  Although he is at work and then with his fiance and her family after work, I will remind my mother and aunt that we should still have cake in his honor!  I mean we always celebrate the birthdays, why should this one be any different.

Surprise surprise, my brother came over after work for a few moments.  Long enough for me to remind him, we should still be having cake!  It's not our fault he isn't available to hang with us!  We will celebrate for him.  Birthdays are almost always well celebrated in our family with gifts, dinner and cake and ice cream.  My mom and them decided I was right and went out and got a cake, strawberry whipped cream,  (one of Ian's and Brook's favorite)  Then they made this video! (laughs)

Day 53- #90daysofblogging

Very exhausting day.

Got a bunch of swaps complete and ready to drop in the mail on Tuesday.  A few are late, but on their way.  I think I should take a back seat to swaps for the month of July and August.  I can't hang and July isn't here yet! ::giggles::

Some friends are going to an art retreat in MD the week after the 4th of July, I would love to go and meet them, even if it's just for lunch or coffee.. I think it would be awesome!  My friend Donna says she would go, but I think she was just saying OK MEKO to make me feel better.. or she was asleep and sleep typing! (HA).  Up pretty late and i need to be in bed!  Good night!

Day 52- #90daysofblogging

Today is Father's Day.
My dad is gone.

I began the day like any other Father's  Day with thoughts of my dad.  My father passed away in 2008, hard to believe it's been almost 7 years, My mother and father although separated when I was seven, never divorced. I have bunches of memories of my dad that weren't always putting him in the best light, but I had memories of fun times as well.  As an adult I reached out to my dad and we use to talk when I couldn't sleep, usually around 4am, even if it was just for a little bit.  It was always good to hear his voice and his laugh.  My dad use to tickle me, because he use to wear a few rings.  Whenever he saw me he knew to put them up, Oh No, here comes Miss Minnie (my nickname as a kid from him).. No You cannot have it! I usually got one, anyway.  I was the oldest and a girl and the ONLY girl. (smiles).  Anywho...

I miss my deddy (yes deddy)
My dad is gone.

Day 51- #90daysofblogging

Had fun doing another double journal page.  I should be doing so many other things, but here I am again, creating something fun.. for me.  I started out laying down some color with my Design Memory Craft Gelatos.  I activated and blended the color with my finger/baby wipe.  e careful using a wet wipe, you can wipe off more color then you intend.  Sometimes I have some out.. that have some what dried, but contain enough moisture to activate and move the product.  I stamped with some archival ink. and as that dried.. and added some more blues, purple and a little black to create a night time sky.  Added color to my flowers with some Big Brush Pitt Pens and rubbed them into the paper because the ink can move for the first 5 seconds.  Did some splatter with some watered down gesso, to give the illusion of stars in the sky.  Then I decided I wanted my flowers to looked like they had been visited by fairies and i added some Glass Bead glitter Gel to parts of the flowers and again in the night sky.. to give  a twinkling affect.  Well here it is...

It's sooo much prettier in person.  I do say thought I like my camera on this new phone a lot more then my old phone.  Here is a short flip.. working the courage to do something different soon..

Day 50- #90daysofblogging

Decided to a journal page featuring some Design Memory Craft products.  I had a ball, got stuck a few times.  I wound up just doing layer after layer after layer..  To be honest I think I should do another one and use even product.  I have the PITT PENS and the Glass Bead Glitter Gel that i just LOVE!!!   One with some Living item in it.  Yep think I will and do it tonight.

I hope I can post my FlipaGram It basically shows the slide show pictures and explains the process.
I think it's too fast.. Nothing I can't fix on future videos though right?  Hope you enjoy the process..

Day 49-#90daysofblogging

Friday I am over on the Sin City Stamps Blog with an shabby chic Father's Day card.
I had fun doing this.  My fingers got all nice and sticky and covered in metallic goodness! ::smiles::  I really loved piling the colors on the Gina Designs Diamond Texture sheet.  I think I may need to hoard it and use it very small quantities or just invest in 4 sheets or more to last me a little while at a time!!  Here are few step out pictures..

Uhm, I just know you didn't think I would show you EVERYTHING over here ? Right? Right? WRONG!!  ::laughs::  Please step over to the blog post by clicking here!

Day 48- #90daysofblogging

I got these lovely cards in the mail from Tami Kline. They were created perfectly!  It's always cool to exchange art/crafty things with other people.  I like the colors she used. the second card is a what I use to call a Z-Fold card.  I have make cards to exchange with 3 folks.  While I have cards made already, I don't think they represent my style at all    I will get them out in the mail over the weekend.  I will keep it CAS since I am sending more then 1 card.  Thanks again Tami.

Day 47-#90daysofblogging

Today I got my first swap item from a group I am in called The Enchanted Imaginarium on Facebook.  I have such a good time reading posts I finally decided to dive in and join a swap.  Deb;s swaps are very different then some of the previous ones I have been in.the other swapping places I have been.  She really makes her artists step outside the box.  This Swap was called The Mona Lisa Swap.  We were given a black and white image of the Mona Lisa to alter any way we see fit.  This what I got from my partner  JoAnn.  Her Altered Mona makes me smile.  She also sent me the most lovely napkins to play with in my art.  I especially love the tie dye ones!  Thanks again Joann!

Day 46- #90daysofblogging

I started doing some of my ICAD 2015.. I think I am only up to day 5, laughs.  I did this face though, It's not my normal face because, although I used my neocolor II.  I didn't activate them with water.  I activated them with matte medium.  Not sure if that will stop them from activating with moisture in the future, but as for right now.. She was cool to me.  The final layer of shadowing was actually done with my ebony pencil, not from layers upon layers of a raw umber. I still like her face.  I don't like her hair, the lines are to strong.  I guess I could go over them with some paint, but this only a index card.  Practice, practice and remembering some of those miscellaneous mistakes will help me get better.

Day 45- #90daysofblogging

Who knew I would even get this far?  I am halfway through my personal challenge for 90 days of blogging.  My friend Sharon taught me early in the #90 days shouldn't have to mean 90 days straight.  Life can and normally does get in the way.  I find that that is ok.  The thing is to get back in gear and blog some more and more frequently.  To be honest before this challenge I probably would have done a whole year worth of blogging and may NOT have reached the 90 post mark ::smiles::  This challenge is starting a new routine and creating a habit.  A positive habit.  I have always read I am suppose to be a writer when i use to take personality test. I use to think did they mean drawer instead and I always laugh it off, but I always find myself writing.. even when it's just a short passage and it doesn't kill me. ::smiles::

(expressing a little thanks)

I would first of all like to thank my artsy circle of friends who joined me from the beginning on this journey of 90days of blogging..  Sandee Setliff, who blogs like she is taking a  deep breath and exhaling. Thank you!  THANKS for pushing me, when I get slowish ::chuckles::  and being that person constantly winding that key and telling me YOU CAN DO IT!

Sharon Estes, who also jumped in and said.. you know.. this goal is possible. But I am going to write my own rules and get there the best way I know how.  More consistent posting, and I am sure not gonna beat myself up about if it doesn't get done daily!  Little does she know.. it's one of the reasons I haven't quit. Reminding myself daily, to do it and not feel bad if LIFE outside my pc delays me a little.

Vicki Ann, who like Sandee blogs like it's second nature and gets it done.  She also keeps going even more frequently than before.. to help support me on this little endeavor.  Thank you for being voice that reminds me, not to forget to play between posts ::laughs:: Do something fun and you will find it easy to talk about it on your blog.  I could probably type even more than I do, but I won't push it

Donna ::laughs::  Donna feels my struggle!  We motivate each other to stay on track. She reminds me, it's not a job and no one gives a damn what we say here.  She makes me laugh too!  They all do, but Donna the most.  This experience has far less painful the I wanted to believe,

Day 44- #90daysofblogging

image found on google from http://floristwall.com/white-daisy-photography/

It came to my attention that my grandmother on my mother's side would have been 98 on June 13, 2015. She passed away on June 8, 1990, that means she has been dead 25 years.  That's more then half my life.  My grandmother's presence is still felt so strong.  Whenever we need a reminder of how to get through times of struggle, we remind ourselves what would grandma do,  I want to believe that all in her beliefs she would not be disappointed in who we are.. No who I am as a person.  It's hard to know though, because we are so different.  I think am most like my grandma for her willingness to accept people for who they are, she showed a lot of compassion for people who seemed to be going through things..  Yes she was mean and often cruel to people she didn't like, but usually with valid reasons.. not just because she could be.  My grandma made things happens, just when you thought it wasn't possible,  My grandmother is all around us.  The things that we do daily in our house, are influenced by memories of her.  The coffee and creamer we drink, choices in sherbet we buy, miscellaneous as it is.. it is what it is.  When we have life changing events like relationships or babies being born, we always have stories of how grandma would have received them.  She loved new people.. they came with new reasons to smile and getting to know them was always precious and worth being celebrated,  I think my grandma is the person who has made me feel most beautiful because as she was dieing of cancer in her final days.  Her wish for me was to have everyone looking at me and seeing me and knowing how special I was on my prom.  It was the one day, I felt most beautiful and most like a princess, with all my wishes granted, by her fairy godmothers (my grandma, my mom and my aunts).  I love and miss my grandma profusely.

Day 43- #90daysofblogging

How I really feel.. when i have tons of crap to do!

Today I think I am going to do a journal page of some sort.  I am waiting for some ustreams to go live, so hopefully I will get this done and and not be sidetracked.  Some kinda way I lost a few days this week when I was blogging.  I hoped for the most part I would only get a day behind or whatever, but, it is what it is..  I will keep going though.  Now that I think of it.. I have not even started my ICADs, maybe I will do that instead..  Yep sounds like a winner to me :)

Day 42- #90daysofblogging

Just posting a few faces after following a few small steps in Jane Davenport's book, Beautiful faces.  So far the first chapter was all the supplies she loves to use and being a art supply junky.  I like Jane, I hear voice when I read her book..(literally)  The persona that we get from her free videos on YouTube and interviews we have seen her in, shine throughout the pages.  It's so funny, as I read her book and I find myself rereading the lines saying, that was not dramatic enough.. put more emphasis here.  Yet when she requested that we SMILE when we draw.. I couldn't bring myself to do that, probably my faces look so serious here.  my sketches of faces can take me a few as 90 seconds without adding color or details.  Her faces make me take a whole five to seven minutes, yikes.  I drew small and will try bigger as I get more confident.  My faces don't look as fairy/nymph like as hers, because they are MY FACES.  I only plan to take the portion of her teachings that I feel add value to mine.  Did I say I like my faces?  They aren't perfect and that's fine by me..  I need more help with coloring/painting etc.  Ok.. enough for this post.. :)

Day 41- #90daysofblogging

Just got these in the mail on Thursday, June 10, 2015.  Nothing quite to say about them yet.. I will say I was strong armed into getting them by Paula Phillips, aka Journal Artista #hoHO!  Just kidding, Paula and I seem to gravitate towards the need to always do more and learn more.  I appreciate the reviews that she and Dede Willingham aka Inkwell  give on their USTREAM live shows and YouTube about books and supplies.

I am pleased with Amazon.com shipping though.  I have been ordering a few things through them and I am very pleased with getting notices when my packages are shipped as well as getting the alerts that they were dropped off.  Literally within seconds of the item touch my stairs. I don't sit in the window like my grandma and watch for the mail yet.. ::giggles at my grandma's daily posts back in the day::  I do appreciate the service and I wonder is it as effective in the city.  Growing up in the hood or being elderly I could see this feature being a reason to ALWAYS SHOP through Amazon.  Very anxious to start doing more faces and may need to use a journal specifically for this alone.  I know I have enough blanks to do it!

Day 40- #90daysofblogging

Today I created an awesome double page in my Dylusions journal.  Again with no protective center or bleed through of products.  I laid down some color with my Dylusions paints and moved the color around with a slightly moist baby wipe.  I usually take my wipes out I anticipate using and let them air dry a bit, so they don't pull off as much color as they would if they they were freshly pulled.  Ten I used my Deco Art Media Line Matte Medium to adhere the magazine image to my page.  I also covered the page and the other page as well.. I adhered some colorful tissue papers to that side.  Once again covering the tissue paper as well..   Then I worked on my magazine face.  I can draw decent faces, even though my images may not look like the original person, ::laughs::  You still recognize that it's a real person. I have problems with learning to paint them.  I lack, shade, dimension, facial structure/curvatures.  I am working on that though.  by doing projects like these.  I took out some Deco Art Multi Surface Satin   Acrylics in Tuxedo Black and Cotton Ball..   Yes I only used 2 colors.
I laid down some white in the lightest areas and then the black in the darkest areas.  Blending in multiple shades of grays to pull them all together.  I actually love how it turned out.  Then I took those same colors and after making to odd ball shapes exposing the tissue paper print and colors.. and trying my attempt at muting those same colors..  Then I doodled with a white Design Memory Craft Artist Brush Pitt Pen and outlined with a Sakura Identipen - What is he going to do?  The choice is his.  This image to me is of a black man deep in thought.. It's mysterious to me to wonder what is he thinking about so deeply.  Is he wondering what his connection to the universe is.  What will he tell his son who is black?  Is he living the life GOD has chosen for him to the fullest? Is GOD pleased? What to eat for dinner? Will Jordan make a come back?  Who shot Biggie?  How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? ::giggles a little)

Day 39- #90daysofblogging

Yea I know we probably shouldn't eat fast foods and for once in my life..   An image of the fry has been ruined, for as long as I can possibly hold this image in my head.  Have you ever seen anything more disgusting???  I went with my mom, aunt and Brook to White Castles for Brook.  I decided to get a some chili cheese fries.  I planned on having a few, then throwing them away.  No one else in my house likes them but me.. I can do without them.  Any who.. the guy didn't read back the order.. so when we got to the window  and he was asked to repeat the order, he mentioned the wrong fries..   Any who, come to find out the didn't have the chili.  Very upset and not wanting them to jack up my food, we accepted the jalapeno cheese fries and just left.  When I passed Brook her fries to snack on I looked at this box of cheese fries.  My box was so wet if I had waited.. it would possibly soaked thru the bottom of the box and paper bag!  I had to see what was so wet!  This is what they gave to me.  Do you see this?  I literally felt as though I had to vomit.. it was just stuck.  The dry heaves .. the sweats.. and a sour stomach came on suddenly as if I had eaten them.  I think the vision ruined my whole day and demeanor. I was just flabbergasted that anyone would think this is ok.. Well they lost me.  Takes a lot to disgust me.. Well mission accomplished!!  I can't believe they think folks are suppose to want to eat anything like that.  Ok.. RANT  over.. for the moment.

Day 38- #90daysofblogging

Have you ever just kept the containers that the original product came in because you just knew you could  turn it into  something? Every time  I get a box of wooden veneers I keep the box. I am determined that I will know what to make sooner or later. I am sure I have more, but these are the only ones I can reach, right  now.  I can see them painted with little charm.. or painted paper bead dangles. That requires me to be able to drill a small hole through  wood.  Soo I need a dremel or a small fiskars hand drill and I have neither. I can also see inchies being created and placed in them. I can see them as hinged pieces. Or the body of some weird doll wall hanging.. No inspiration  on pinterest for this one. :::smiles:::  Oh well.. Guess Ill dream of ways it can be used.. and keep collecting them?? Or should i throw them away.. ??

Day 37- #90daysofbloging

Ok.. let's see how this will work for me.  Today's post is my first post with my new tabletpc.  its a tablet with a blue tooth keyboard I am typing from now. the keys are small and if I don't look up, my cursor may move and type in the middle of my previous typed wording.. ::grrrr:: All in all.. it's ok.  I don't have to dl apps like i would a normal tablet or phone.  It pretty much works like a normal pc using the windows operating system.  I even spent some time on ustream yesterday, which I appreciate more then a little bit.  Let's see if I will write more?  Let's see if I will post more work in advance? Only time will tell.. Wonder how long this battery will last before it needs charging on the keyboard??  Oh and it's purple!  How cool is that?? I could read directions, but what fun is that??? ::giggles::

Day 36- #90daysofblogging

I  have a post up on the SinCityStampers Blog.  I did  a shabby chic card using the Madame stamp set.  Love those stamps, I get  to color small faces.  I love  the shabby chic style and girlie grunge, haven't yet perfected them.  I don't know about you, but I also have a problem with clustering flowers although I love how this card came to into fruition.  Hope you can stop by and say how do.  You can find more complete post here.

Have a grand weekend I am sure I will..  ::smiles::

Day 35- #90daysofblogging

Today is the day after my birthday and I had a nice day.  We didn't do anything,  but chill and relax.
I did get a Windows Tablet PC and I ordered a new phone, should be delivered sometime today.  It's called the Galaxy Prevail. The tablet is by windows, its not the best.. but it allows me to get online.. without always being on my phone and it allows me to do better and keep up with my blog post.  ::crossing fingers::  I also got a big load of  laser cut chippies from Gina's Designs to create with. It wasn't a birthday present. but it was a great to receive it on my birthday,

Today WE.. My mom, Aunt Pat, Brook and myself are going out. We are going to Elgin's Lady Victoria Casino... for LUNCH!   I have Brook, so no gambling for me!  It won't be overly crowded and Brook can have all the pizza she wants and stuff.  She will enjoy it I hope.  I will enjoy watching her.  Anyway, better be off, we have a ways to drive and we are all hungry.

Don't forget to say hi to my friends, doing the #90daysofblogging too

Day 33- #90daysofblogging

It is killing me having no phone!!  I think this will truly be my shortest post of the 90 days.. Tomorrow is my birthday and I hope to get something that once again connects me with the rest of my world, while Brook is doing her thing!  I should go outside for a walk!  NOT a nature girl.. how many time do I tell you guys that.. NOT a nature girl..  ::laughs out super loud:::  Glares at the window!  I will read a BOOK first I tell ya!! I promise ya.. I will read a book.. if I can stay awake!

The End.  ::smiles::

Don't forget to say hi to my friends, doing the #90daysofblogging too

Day 32- #90daysofblogging

Huge Happy Mail day.. I got things in the mail from Dede (Inkwell), My swaps from Artful Mail Group swap partners in a water color ATC swap and a pocket letter, from my first pen pal in pocket letter pal groupies also came.  My phone is broken and I neglected to charge my cameras for photo sharing purposes.  I will share soon though.

I also decided in the middle of the night to go through my craft storage bins.. I have dozens of them.. ::sigh::  I will try to do like 3 a day.  Until I have gotten rid of all I can't give away or sell.  Found a lot of cards I had made in the past and boy has my style evolved.  I found some stickers I can add to my pocket letters.. and some some bags to load up some sequins.  I think I am kinda iffy about the whole washi tape thing.. I think my washi is super cheap..  ::laughs::  I wouldn't try to pass this on!!  I found some ribbon I would never use which is cool and some small stamps from the $1 bins, I never used.  Maybe someone can use them? Would be cool on an ATC I suppose.

Anyway, just a note.. because I have over 50 more days of doing this.. ::laughs::  It's coming along I suppose.  I can't wait to show you my picture I did.  I uploaded it to IG on my moms phone.  Forgot to send it to myself on FB Messenger or email.. Oh wait.. I can print screen and share. ::tee hee::

When I created this picture I collage some random papers and added a layer of gesso. I then added like 3-4 colors of Design Memory Craft Gelatos.  I then went over it with clear gesso.  Then I added Deco Art acrylics and smudged the paint where needed.  Framed it with gelatos along the edges.  I love the texture and the paint colors that come through on this piece. ::smiles::  Would love to do more like these.
